Took Lae Dee Restaurant – Late Night Eating in Bangkok

Recommended by Taste of Bangkok January 2018

Took Lae Dee, which literally translates to “cheap and good” is a popular chain of restaurants found inside Foodland supermarkets. They serve a mix of Thai and American food on their extensive menu and is open for 24 hours a day. The restaurant is popular to many Thais and locals because you can eat there for breakfast, lunch, dinner or any time of day. As the name states, the food is cheap and tasty and most dishes on the menu were around 100 baht.

I ordered the Tom Yum Goong (144 baht) and Som Tum Set (89 baht). The portions for both dishes were quite generous and a great value compared to other Thai restaurants. If you’re looking to dine on a budget or late at night, Took Lae Dee is a good alternative to street food.
