Supanniga Eating Room – Taste of Bangkok January 2018
Recommended by Taste of Bangkok January 2018
Jeff and I tried out one of Thonglor’s more iconic eateries, Supanniga Eating Room. Located in an old school three level shophouse, the restaurant is easy to spot with their yellow décor. Supanniga serves traditional Thai dishes from the Trat (eastern coastline) and Khon Kaen (northeast) regions of Thailand.
We tried a variety of dishes recommended to us by our waitress: ka lum tod nam pla – fried cabbage seasoned with fish sauce, kai jiew pu – fried omelet with crab meat, tom yum goong, Isaan steak – grilled pone yang kam beef served with sweet sticky rice and the crab meat pad prink leung – stir fried crab meat lumps with yellow bell peppers and yellow chili paste.
By the end of our meal, we were both completely stuffed. The food was amazing – particularly the fried omelet, which wasn’t too oily and fried just right. The prices, however, are on the higher side when compared to other Thai options. Overall, I didn’t mind paying a premium for great food and will be coming back again soon.
